(1973).

comments: preparatory studies in sketchbook 1973/76 (CU, inv. 1994-T.27). A wooden plank between the two chimney flues caught fire, which soon swept through the whole farmhouse. Pannekoek had been drinking a lot that night, however immediately sobered up after his car rolled over in a ditch due to the icy road. With a lot of effort, the 35 cows (and Pannekoeks two goats) were rescued from the stables. (See Reve 1967, text facing fig. 11).

He sits on his mountain in France, the white stick in his hand, an agave as phallic symbol near him, and the wind blowing through his hair. Pannekoek has gradually let the coat worn by Reve fade into the landscape. A cathedral can be seen in the background, referring to his religion.
